Horse Races & Carnivals in Nuwara Eliya - April 2016
Set the lofty mountainous region of the country, Nuwara Eliya comes alive during the April season. Also known as ‘Little England’, this charming old town is a hive of activity ranging from car races to cycling, boating, golf tournaments and many more festivities, carnivals and live performances. The horse racing introduced by the British is indeed a popular event and has yet retained its prominence particularly among elite. Nuwara Eliya is certainly the place to beat the heat and to dance to a different beat, as the island is busy with traditional new-year celebrations during the holiday season.
