What is the difference between an e-Visa and a traditional visa?

All visitors to India must have a valid visa. Eligible citizens visiting India for business, treatment, sightseeing and so on can apply online for an e-Visa

On the application form, e-Visa is referred to 'Visa on Arrival' because your passport will be stamped when you arrive in India. However, it is very important that you get your e-Visa before you travel.
